Senate President Bukola Saraki, one of the twelve Peoples Democratic Party’s candidates and Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a party chieftain have reacted to the victory of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s Primary Election held Rivers state Between Saturday and Sunday.
Saraki, who emerged as the second runner-up didn’t oppose the outcome of the primary election, he also vowed to throw in weight for his winner contender to emerge against President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
He also acknowledged the efforts of Waziri Adamawa for staying on he course, which made His victory a deserving one.
“Today is a great day for our party, Peoples Democratic Party, because it has shown what men and women of our party can do. Today has shown that the interest of our party and the Nigerian people is more important than our individual interests.
“I want to thank Governor Okowa for planning and organizing this transparent, free and fair Presidential Primary and Convention. I congratulate our Presidential Candidate, Your Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for your victory.”
“You have stayed on course over the years and truly, you deserve this victory.
We always knew from Day 1 that only one candidate would emerge. On behalf of all the aspirants, I want to assure Alhaji Atiku Abubakar that we will work with you to ensure that come 2019, you emerge as Nigeria’s next President”, Saraki wrote in his statement.
Chief Fani-Kayode also added he words to congratulate Atiku as PDP’s candidate.
With flagging Atiku off now, Fani-Kayode challenged the ruling APC to a war and their candidate, Buhari to prepare for retirement from public service.
