The Member representing Akoko southeast /southwest federal constituency of Ondo state in the house of representatives, Hon. Ade Adeogun is set to award a three year tuition free scholarship to 150 students in his constituency.
Hon Ade Adeogun, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Abire Olugbenga, on Saturday, disclosed that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the management of Upland College of Education, Ipesi Akoko, to facilitate the schorlaship programme.
The statement noted that the three year tuition free scholarship would lead to the award of National Certificate in Education (NCE) at Upland College of Education, Ipesi Akoko.
The spokesperson revealed that application forms for the scholarship will be available from Monday, March 23, 2020 at all the offices of the Constituency offices in Oba, Akungba and Oka Akoko, adding that it could also be obtained through Hon. Yomi Ajibola at the residence of Hon Femi Àgbède in Ipe Akoko, Akoko South East.
“Candidates must bear in mind that ONLY those who have five credits in relevant subjects at not more than two sittings in their WAEC, NECO, NABTEB or equivalents SHOULD approach our offices. Candidates must also note that the forms do not translate to automatic admission as screening exercises will be conducted by the school at a date to be announced after this first process is completed,” the statement emphasised.
He assured that there will be no discrimination in the selection process of qualified beneficiaries “as it is open to all citizens and residents of Akoko, while a limited number is reserved for qualified persons from the rest of Ondo State.”
