Ondo Rep, Akinfolarin Facilitates school building for constituents

The member representing Ile-oluji-Okeigbo and Odigbo Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Honourable Mayowa Akinfolarin has facilitated the building of three Blocks of Classrooms, two offices and a Solar Power Light system at Saint Philip Primary School Pakunla/Queen.

The school located at Onisere ward of Odigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State was captured as part of Akinfolarin’s constituency project.

The Lawmaker said Incorporating good classrooms and school designs, through the school rebuilding and renovation has multiple benefits, and that he would ensured that his consituents enjoyed such.

“Where we live and work has direct effect on our lives, and this is even more important to help give our children the best start in life, not just in terms of mental health but also academic improvement, the Lawmaker said”.

He further said that such would Improved the results in Schools, attracting and retaining talented staff members that will boost the level of student’s assimilation of knowledge and improving the overall wellbeing of pupils and positively influence parents’ perception and satisfaction with school and help school move up educational standards and increase the number of pupils as well.

He further opined that when school renovation projects or upgrades on existing buildings like this are done, it will not only enhance school facilities but also students academic performance.

He added that the school environment plays an important role in Proper transfer of knowledge, he also said the natural light is one of the key things you can have in your classroom. Large windows are excellent when combined with blinds to control the light levels or external shading to sunlit windows. Adding good quality artificial electrical lighting will help concentration, focus and attention.

He also said that unhealthy environment affect children’s health, attendance, concentration and performance in the school.

In the remark of the School PTA Chairman, Mr Benjamin Akinboboye he thanked Hon Akinfolarin Mayowa for the amazing work he did for their children and community. He said, his passion and dedication to their school is greatly appreciated and this great gesture shall always linger for a long time in the community memory.

Mr Aremu Kehinde (Obula), the school PTA Secretary made it known that since the dilapidated condition of the school building, their children usually trek to a far distance to have access to basic education. He expressed his gratitude to Rt. Hon Akinfolarin Mayowa for the job well done and assured him the community support in any of his future political ambition.
