Hon. Joseph Iranola Akinlaja has today, April 7, 2021 recieved an EXCELLENCE in LEADERSHIP AWARD from Lagos State University Master in Public Administration [LASUMPA] in recognition of his meritorious service to Lagos State, his home state and Nigeria as a whole.
The event was part of the annual leadership summit and awards organized LASUMPA which took place at Makanjuola Hall of the State University, Iyana-Iba, Lagos State.
President of LASUMPA, Mr. Yusuff Gbadebo said the conferment of the award on Hon. Akinlaja came from an unbiased recognition and appreciation of his immense contributions towards the growth of the country’s petroleum industry value chain.
Comrade Emmanuel Ajibulu, who received the award on behalf of the two-term Ondo State Federal parliamentarian [Ondo East/West Federal Constituency] and Technical Consultant/Life Patron to the Petroleum Tanker Drivers [PTD] Branch of NUPENG, thanked the organisers of the event and said the recognition would serve as a springboard that would spur Hon. Akinlaja to continue to work more for representative democracy, human capital development, capacity building, youth development/empowerment, good governance and leadership in Nigeria.
He added that the former Chairman House Committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream and former General Secretary of NUPENG was attending to other pressing national issues in Abuja, adding that, that was why he couldn’t show up in person but was ably represented by him.
Similarly, the guest speaker, His Excellency, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo [GCON] was also not present as he was reported to be presiding over the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to Governor Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Solomon Saanu Bonu alongside other dignitaries were on the recipients’ list of the prestigious awards at the institution of choice on Wednesday.
