Each generation must out of relative obscurity discover its mission, fulfill it, or betray it”- Frantz Fanon (1925-1961) – psychiatrist, humanist and revolutionary
Defiling the status quo and the seemingly unending godfatherism to garner the gains of democratic processes is no easy task. In a nation so blessed with abundant resources, yet, standing tall as world headquarter of poverty, one begins to wonder, who cursed us?
The story of how Small Alhaji rose to the top is a challenge to all younger generation. Breaking the metaphoric assertion in the local slang, “who know man na him sabi way”.
Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has hence broken the jinx for the common man, the oppressed, the downtrodden and the wretched of the earth. How he manage the distractions and put to nothing the power brokers is an episode for another day.
It is no gainsaying SDP, what many called an unpopular party within the region, gave hope to the people by presenting a popular candidate. The people’s choice. He has shown that strength and power resides with the people, Who are the electorates.
Hitherto, setting a pace, we all must join our collective strength to support youthful minds like him who are productive, to build and strengthen our democratic institutions. The time is now for us to rise again. As youths and lovers of this country we must build on the gains of this individual to raise the consciousness of all in other to build a stronger democratic institutions of our choice.
Indeed a generational call beckons, this mission we must fulfil it for our children’s children.
While Hon. Adefisoye Tajudeen (Small Alhaji) has shown courage to defile the power brokers, the locust, the cankerworm, the caterpillar, and the Palmer worm, feasting on our democracy. The choice is now place between us today to either sustain this struggle or betray it. However, dare to struggle, dare to win.
We grow because we struggle; we learn and overcome. If there is no struggle, there is no progress. The struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. Strength comes from struggle. Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye has dare all odds and is worthy of commendation.
Hence, we all have been dare to struggle, dare to win as youths and leaders of today and tomorrow. As for me and my house hold the challenge has just began. The change process is here.
It’s a clarion call to all youths to rise like Martin Luther the first in history in 1505, stated “Here I stand, I shall not do otherwise, so help me God”.
In conclusion, I charge the new hope of the people to continue with his effective representation of his constituents. I have gathered facts from the grassroot on the empowerment programmes, the employment opportunities and many more he is giving to his constituents. The youthful strength and vibrancy is second to none. You can only do better and more as you have the support of the progressive youth not to join the bandwagon of those who have not harnessed democratic dividends for their constituents. It is no gainsaying that the future is now! Keep up with the giant stride, as the flag keeps flying.
