The latest case of Coronavirus infection in Ondo state was discovered in Owo local government of the state, health Commissioner, Wahab Adegbenro has confirmed to Nigerian Cable news online.
Adegbenro also said the new cases is the 25th, bringing the total number of active cases in the state to four.
The commissioner, while speaking with nigeriancablenewsonline.com on a phone chat said the patient, (a male) has been taken to the Infectious disease Hospital in Akure for Appropriate treatment.
Dr Adegbenro explained that the patient was picked from the federal medical centre Owo after showing some symptoms of COVID-19, and later tested positive to the disease.
“He was admitted at the Federal Medical center(FMC) in Owo. The hospital management called our attention after he showed symptoms of COVID-19. We took his sample and the results came positive yesterday (Friday) morning.”
He added that contact tracing of the patient has started to prevent a community spread of the infection in Owo.
