The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it read with mild dismay, a claim that the party secretariat is in crisis over notional disagreement between the State Chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, and southern senatorial Chairman, Dr. Deji Oyedele.
The party in a statement signed by Mr. Alex Kalejaye, it’s Publicity secretary on Thursday added that it wishes to inform members that the claim is baseless and imaginary.
“The duo were together, with other members of the State Working Committee (SWC), on Wednesday at the Secretariat, where they were addressed by the Congress Committee from Abuja.”
Kalejaye however reiterated that commitment of the state working committee to a credible congress, while adding that the state Chairman has no personal interest in it’s outcome.
“The preoccupation of the SWC, led by Engr. Adetimehin, is to ensure credible congress, believing that a rancour free primaries starts therefrom.”
“It is pertinent to amplifier the fact that the state chairman has no interest whatsoever in who makes the list from any local government area. His position has been that, “Leaders should provide conducive atmosphere for credible congress in all the 203 wards”.
“The party wishes to alert members that the era of crude blackmailing and gross misinformation is here, and should therefore be ready to discard them as they surface.”
“The purported story, without attribution, is clearly the handwork of elements that do not mean well for the cohesion and unity of the party in the state.”
“We want to assure the authors and their co-travellers that the state secretariat would not be distracted by their myopic strategies, in its resolve to pursue equity and fairness in the interest of the chapter.” He added.
