In line with the new political arrangement in Ondo State, the leadership of Zenith Labour Party in Okitipupa Local Government Area yesterday met to merge with the People’s Democratic Party, perfecting the merger as initiated some weeks back at the State level.
This was as a result of the return of the former governor of the State, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, to the PDP ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Speaking at the event which took place at Idepe Town Hall, Okitipupa, Rt. Hon. Jumoke Akindele, the former speaker of the State House of Assembly thanked members of the party on behalf of Dr. Mimiko for their good support and loyalty at every given situation. She further delivered the good will messages of the party leadership from the state to party faithfuls and encouraged the people not to lose hope in the new political arrangements currently manifesting across the state.
Barrister Jumoke noted in her address that PDP remains the only credible and viable alternative through which the current government could be unseated and good governance installed.
Other dignitaries who spoke at the event were Chief Adekanmi Adegbola and Engr Ogunwa Omoniyi(Oboli) who both charged the people to remain hopeful and work assiduously for the success of the PDP in their various wards and units.
In his remarks, the Chairman of PDP in Okitipupa local government, Mr Olusola Adewo, assured the new entrants of equal opportunities for all members of the party. He therefore directed all the new members to visit their various wards for proper documentation. The Chairman was accompanied to the event by the former State Secretary of the party Chief Oyedele Ibini, the southern chairman of the party, Elder Fadope Amos and a host of others.

Prince Eni Akinsola of Ayeka/Igbodigo/Igodan Lisa/Okunmo Ward and Mr Akinsola Jimoh of Igbotako Ward 2 were fully represented by the good people their respective wards.
