Mimiko celebrates Olanipekun at 70

Former Ondo State Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has congratulated Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, on the occasion of his 70th birthday.

Mimiko in a message he personally signed described Olanipekun SAN as his friend of many years, a legal icon, a wonderful family man, a community leader of note and a key player in the battle to reshape Nigeria.

Mimiko in the statement said: “Wole is a complete professional who pursues and gets perfection in all his endeavours. In his legal profession, he is clinically detailed and this has reflected in his many victories up to the nation’s apex court. He is a complete family man and this is obvious in his children, the fine gentlemen and ladies, that he has groomed to excellence in their own rights. He is a profound legal mind, the width and height of his practice and the numerous scions from there attest to this. Above all, he is a great personality and this is reflected in the fact that irrespective of our regular spats, he has always been available to me in my journeys to and fro the courts in my political journey.

“While not a lawyer, I have seen and heard of his different interventions in thorny cases which have ended up enriching the profession and its practice in Nigeria and I do know that his activist era as President of the NBA still remains a reference point in the life of the association.”

Mimiko who also reflected on Olanipekun as a community leader added that the celebrant has also affected many lives in his Ikere Ekiti community and indeed Ekiti State through what we may refer to as unannounced charity and charitable endeavours.

“I congratulate my friend of many years, a legal icon, a wonderful family man, a community leader of note and a key player in the battle to reshape Nigeria on his 70th birthday and wish him many more years of involvement in all that is noble, just and fair and in the service of God and humanity,” Mimiko concluded.
