The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris was caught in an obvious lack of composure while delivering speech in an event yesterday, May 16, 2018.
In a two-minute video clip exclusively captured by Voice of Liberty Newspaper, the Police boss unusually struggled with the reading of a written speech and it all became the talk of the town from that moment.
Coincidentally, it was around the same time the Nigerian Senate President Bukola Saraki alleged the Police of plotting to implicate himself (Saraki) and the Kwara state government led by Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed, by making a move to alter a crime statement made by some suspected cultists – a reason the IGP ordered for the suspects’ urgent transfer to Abuja yesterday.
Although, the Police spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood quickly refuted Saraki’s claim against IGP, the National Assembly had set up a committee to investigate the issue and see the President over it.
However, one may not be able to adduce if the lack of composure expressed by Mr. Idris Ibrahim is connected to the serious fallout on him from the Senate but it obviously came at the same moment.
In recent times, he has been having cases with the same Senate after he refused to appear before the Nigerian lawmakers upon invitations three times.
