As part of its efforts at expanding women’s rights in Nigeria, Dr. Rhoda Makinde Initiative (DROMI) has plegded its continuous support for mother and child survivals in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
At a road walk awareness on grassroot Community Participation for Development (COPESA SDGs) held in Osogbo during the weekend, Dr. Makinde said no nation will grow to a better society if it neglects the welfare of its women and children.
Dr. Rhoda, who was confirmed as the Patron and Distinguished Ambassador of the COPESA SDGs Agendas in Africa during the event, said she has been, through her initiative, supporting SDGs vision to end poverty through empowermen of women in many states of the federation.
In a goodwill address delivered by Mrs Oluronbi Modupe, Dr. Makinde also eulogised the wife of the Governor, State of Osun, Mrs. Kafayat Oyetola for her continuous support for actions that benefits and improve the welfare of women and children in the state, assuring of her NGO’s willingness in joining hands with IleriOluwa Development Initiatives.
She also declared that DROMI will continue to support all activities that are aimed at eradicating poverty, improving the health and education of women as captured in the Sustainable Development Goals.
“DROMI is open to partnerships with relevant stakeholders and other collaborative efforts to make the SDGs a reality by 2030”
Some of the participants at the road walk appreciated DROMI for variois empowerments being organised for women in order for the to become tbeir own bosses and agents of posutive changes.
It could be recalled that DROMI organised a-week free skills acquisition training for more than 200 women in Osun State last month during which many lives and destinies were transformed.
