RUGIPO CRISIS: NAPS Condemns Violent Protest, Pleads For Quick Reopening Of Campus

The National leadership of the National Association of Polytechnic students have condemned in strong terms, the destruction of properties of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo. During the recent Students/staff unions protests in the school.

The national President of NAPS, comrade Mohammed Eneji made this known on Thursday (01-02-2018), during a courtesy visit to the Ondo state government, through the office of the Special Assistant to the governor on Youths and Students.

Mohammed on a chat with during the visit said:

‘We heard about the unfortunate incident, and that is why we are here to sympathize with the school management and the state government.’

‘While We condemn in totally, the destructive protest held in RUGIPO. We have also come to plead with the school management and government to hasten up the investigation activities of the committee of enquiry set up to look into the incident. So that our innocent comrades, who had Prepared for their exams will soon be called to write the exams at the reopening of the school.’

In his response, Mr. Banji Adewunmi, the S. A on Youths and students to governor Akeredolu thanked the Union leadership for their concern and promised to convey their message to the governor. While assuring that government will do the needfuls on reopening the school as soon as possible.

Other members of entourage of the NAPS National President include comrades Olugbode Damola (V. President), Ijadoye Olasunkanmi (P. R. O) and other executives.
