The Acting Vice Chancellor of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State, Prof. T.O Fadayomi has warned new students admitted into the university to desist from acts that could jeopardize their stay in the institution.
He said the university has zero tolerance for behaviours such as ,truancy, night crawling, indecent dressing, adding that any students who indulged in these acts would be expelled from the institution.
The VC gave the warning while speaking at the 6th matriculation ceremony for the 2017/2018 academic session of the institution.
Prof. Fadayomi, who congratulated the 350 students who took the matriculation oath, advised them to concentrate on their studies for them to be successful at the end.
He explained that the university was poised to produce graduates with necessary skills, who would contribute to the growth and development of the nation.
” In order to achieve this,the university has put in place a skill acquisition programme for the training of all fresh students, that is 100level and Direct Entry students in the act of Solar Energy generation and distribution. This programme would commence in the second semester of 2017/2018 academic session. It is hoped that at the end of the programme, all participants would be able to generate and distribute energy in their respective homes,using the solar energy system.”
The VC listed the core values of the institution to include; diligence, honesty, excellence, pragmatism and integrity, urging the new students to protect the image of the university.
Speaking, one of the new students, Oluwadare Oluwapelumi expressed her delight for being admitted into the institution.
Oluwadare, in the department of Computer Engineering promised to work hard during her stay in the university in order to come out in flying colours.
