The wife of Ondo state Governor, Betty Akeredolu has said that her initiatives like BEMORE, BRECAN and others will continue to exist even beyond her stay in office.
The first lady said this at the inauguration ceremony of the BEMORE 2021 bootcamp in Ondo state.
The inauguration ceremony, which was held at the Public Service training Institute, Ilara Mokin, had in attendance the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa; the Chairman, house committee on NDDC, Rep. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who was the Chairman of the event, among other dignitaries.
While speaking at the event, Mrs. Betty Akeredolu:
“How many of my predecessors have been able to carry their pet projects beyond their tenure as first ladies? Immediately they leave, the projects die.”
“I want to ensure that BEMORE, BRECAN and others survive beyond my four years as the first lady.”
One of the beneficiaries, Marvelous Jegede, who testified during the event said she now makes money through Solar panel building, a skill she learned from the camp.
Also speaking at the event, the deputy Governor said:
“I urge all stakeholders to support this life-changing initiative so that it can be expanded to accommodate more beneficiaries.”
“I also encourage the beneficiaries to take this as a lifetime opportunity and give it your best. I thank the first lady for all she has been doing.” HE added.
Hundreds of young female students have been sponsored as beneficiaries in this year’s Edition of the BEMORE camp.
